Floorcloths require many steps to produce with drying time between each. Your order will be shipped in 6 to 7 weeks from the time your payment is processed. Please allow an additional 7 to 10 days for delivery.

From the Sufi mystic and poet Jalaluddin Rumi, to Duke Ellington, DH Lawrence and even the famous economist John Kenneth Galbraith, artist Debra Gould finds inspiration for this growing collection of floorcloths. Lettering style is chosen to fit the mood of the piece and then painstakingly positioned around the perimeter of the design. This part of the process alone can take a full day in the studio.

"Green Leopard" with quote by D.H. Lawrence, Green, black and yellow. Each letter has been hand traced onto the canvas and then painted precisely with a fine brush.

The artist has this floorcloth on her kitchen floor in front of the sink. After 4 years it still looks new— but she'll paint a whole new one if you order it of course!

"It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing" captures the artist's view of life. Floorcloth in black on layered yellow/gold/ochre washed background with black design. Available to ship in 2 to 3 days as is with grommets for easy hanging. Ordered as floorcloth, 5 to 7 weeks to produce. Title: "Swing". Size: 28" x 58". Price: $550.

"I hear a drum" with quote by Rumi. This can have grommets added for easy hanging. In this size it makes a beautiful "head board" behind a Queen sized bed. Did we mention the quote is from a poem called "Lovers"? Bronze on deep red, 20" x 60". Price $400.


"The Conventional View" inspired by J.K. Galbraith and is the artist's favorite quotation, "whenever I feel myself slipping into the 'conventional view', I know it's time to start questioning things again," she says. Size: 58" x 46". "Destiny" can really make you stop and think about the points in your life when a new road was chosen unknowingly. Pale sage green and pale blue with lettering in deep blue. Silver accents.Even in extreme close up it is difficult to show the subtle patterning of this floorcloth. Overall size: 30" x 36". Price $425.
